Purpose of the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and strategic General Manager to lead our Traffic Management business from the Dublin area on a full-time basis. You will set the overall direction for the company, steer growth and performance across two depots (Dublin and Cork), and ensure excellent delivery of services to public and private clients. The role includes leadership of the senior management team, responsibility for financial and operational outcomes, and development of strong stakeholder relationships. An attractive remuneration package is offered, including salary, a company vehicle and additional benefits.Main ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth, profitability and market share.Lead, mentor and manage the senior management team to deliver agreed targets and objectives.Oversee financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, timely invoicing and liaison with the accounts team.Ensure operational excellence and efficiency across both depots, including coordination with sub-contractors.Maintain and build strong relationships with clients, public bodies and internal Colas departments (HSEQ, HR, Finance) to create effective synergies.Drive innovation and continuous improvement across processes and services.Promote and maintain a positive safety culture; produce and approve HSEQ Method Statements, Risk Assessments and SOPs.Manage Traffic Management design coordination: liaise with Traffic Management Designers, provide required information for Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) designs, and manage the VIAE Traffic Management Job Pack Tool.Ensure QA and HSE documentation is in place and compliant for all contracts.Produce client quotations, prepare pre-qualifications and tender submissions.Provide timely information to the accounts department and ensure monthly invoicing is completed.Produce regular operational and financial reports for the Board of Directors.Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have Traffic Management experience, a full B driving licence, Solas SafePass and Solas CSCS SLG (3-day), and a 3rd-level management qualification or equivalent senior experience. Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills are required, along with flexibility, willingness to travel nationwide, and the ability to work independently or within teams.
