Job Title: Senior EngineerLocation: WaterfordProject Duration: (Long-term Building Project)Employment Type: Full-time, Project-BasedRole OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major multi-year building project in Waterford. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of the project from early construction through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.You will work closely with the Project Manager, site teams, subcontractors, and design consultants, providing strong technical leadership and on-site coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage engineering activities on site across all stages of the projectSet out works accurately and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and standardsOversee quality control, inspections, and testing of worksCoordinate subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring productivity and safe working practicesAssist with short-term and long-term programme planningReview and manage technical drawings, RFIs, and design queriesEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulationsSupport the Project Manager with reporting, progress tracking, and problem resolutionMentor and support junior engineers and site staffLiaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities as requiredRequirementsDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related disciplineMinimum 5–8 years' experience in a similar senior engineering roleStrong background in building construction projectsProven experience managing site engineering teamsExcellent knowledge of Irish building regulations and construction standardsStrong setting-out and technical problem-solving skillsProficient in AutoCAD and common surveying equipmentExcellent communication, leadership, and organisational skillsFull, clean driving licenceDesirableExperience on large-scale or multi-year projectsPrevious experience working with main contractorsSafety certifications (e.g. Safe Pass, Manual Handling, First Aid)What's on Offer10% pension contribution.Private Health Insurance.Generous annual leave.2 Wellbeing days annually.Learning & Development opportunities - internal progression is encouraged and fostered.Company vehiclesShow more Show less
