We’re looking for a highly experienced and influentialSenior Data Scientist to be a key member of our newly established AI team. In this role, you’ll bring deep technical expertise and collaborate closely with our Principal Data Scientist, who will provide mentorship and guidance.
You’ll be part of a compact, dynamic, cross-functional team working alongside skilled colleagues from Product and Engineering, receiving direct mentorship from senior leadership. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI within our organisation and make a significant impact from day one.
This is a hybrid role and can be based from our office in Dublin or Madrid.
Responsibilities
* Problem Formulation & Strategy: Partner with peers across Product and the wider business to translate complex and ambiguous business challenges into well-defined, data-driven strategies and AI use-cases that deliver significant business value.
* Model & System Development: Own the end-to-end design, development, training and evaluation of machine learning models and LLM-enabled systems, ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability while solving identified business needs.
* Model Performance & Excellence: Establish and champion MLOps best practices across the team. Define standards for model monitoring, evaluation, and CI/CD for ML & AI, ensuring production systems are resilient, performant, and continually improving.
* Influential Communication: Clearly articulate complex technical designs, experimental results, and strategic recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership. Your communication will influence technical roadmaps and product strategy.
* Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Act as a technical leader within the multi-disciplinary team. Mentor and guide other data scientists, conduct code reviews, and foster a culture of technical excellence and collaborative learning.
* Drive Innovation: Proactively research, prototype, and champion the latest techniques, tools, and technologies in the AI/ML domain.
Requirements
* 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist with a proven track record of leading complex end-to-end AI / ML projects, delivering significant business value.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Physics). A PhD qualification is a plus.
* Strong statistical knowledge and understanding of a broad range of ML algorithms / LLMs. Proficient in Python and the Python data science ecosystem with mastery of one or more ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
* Strong SQL skills, with an understanding of modern database systems.
* Experience designing and building production-grade ML and generative AI systems.
* Experience with LLM orchestration tooling (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) for complex agentic workflows, RAG; LLM fine-tuning experience is a plus.
* Hands-on cloud development experience on Azure (Fabric, AI Foundry) or GCP (Vertex AI). Experience designing and implementing MLOps pipelines.
* Experience using containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and experiment tracking (MLflow, etc.).
* Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with ability to guide technical discussions, align team members, and build consensus with stakeholders.
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil highly technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for technical and executive audiences.
