University College Cork is implementing the 'Healthy Campus' initiative in line with the HEA Higher Education Healthy Campus Charter and framework.
Our mission is to promote the health and wellbeing of students, staff and the wider community.
The purpose of the Healthy Campus Officer role is to support the work of the Healthy Campus project as directed by the Healthy Campus Steering Committee.
The Healthy Campus Officer will be responsible for assisting the Healthy Campus Co-Ordinator and Healthy Campus Steering Group to oversee and co-ordinate the management and implementation of the Healthy Campus charter.
Involving the development, implementation, and evaluation of a wide range of health and wellness programs, interventions, education campaigns and initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of students and staff across the university.
The role requires a deep understanding of public health, student and staff needs, and the dynamics of a university environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Healthy Campus Co-Ordinator, Steering Group and working groups; various administrative and academic departments and partners within and external to UCC to create a supportive and healthy campus culture.
Principle responsibilities would include: o Marketing.
o Research including leveraging research funding, development and management of the HC Research Publication Portal (Could use the UCC Health Matters Brand for this Portal).
o Coordination of the work of the different working groups.
o Monitoring and Evaluation.
o Ethics and data Protection.
o Data management.
o Reporting - preparation of reports for SoPH, DPR, and the HC Steering Committee.
o Internal collaboration - liaison with SU/ Staff Welfare and Communications.
o Leadership in relation to the Student Interns and started in role by mid- September.
o External collaboration liaison with local and national groupings- MTU Cork Healthy Cities: HSE: HEA.
o Other relevant duties may be requested.
