GIS/Mapping Specialist (12 months fixed term contract)Vacancy Number: 27252Category: BusinessJob Type: Temporary Full-timeESB Group Property is seeking a GIS/Mapping Specialist to join the Planning and Mapping (PAM) team on a Fixed Term Contract for 12 months.The PAM team provides surveying and mapping services for ESB, supporting property management, asset maintenance, and project delivery.ResponsibilitiesUtilise spatial mapping tools to manage ESB Group property files and geospatial data. Perform tasks including creating, modifying, maintaining, and analysing spatial information within the ArcGIS environment to oversee ESB property ownership and address third-party queries or disputes regarding boundaries.Undertake preparation and quality control for migrating existing spatial data to a new GIS platform, and assist in developing internal standards for map production.Survey and produce legal mapping and provide related advisory services to internal and external stakeholders engaged by the Board.Examine property title documents and define boundaries to determine the location and ownership of ESB and third-party property interests.Liaise with officials from the Property Registration Authority on matters related to property registration and the management of ESB’s Property Interest Register.Prepare drawings, maps, and documentation for planning applications, Environmental Impact Statements, and create maps and illustrations for special projects.This position involves collaboration with Project Managers, Solicitors, Town Planners, and Property Valuers to produce layout drawings and maps to a high standard.Experience and QualificationsHold qualifications in Surveying, GIS, Geomatics, or Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.Demonstrated proficiency in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MapInfo, or similar GIS software.It is desirable for candidates to have knowledge/ experience of some or all of the following:Land Management GIS systems and the architecture of same, including the development of associated standards and control documents.Interaction and utilisation of public spatial data sets.The production of Legal and PRAI compliant mappingTopographical Land SurveyingValid full driving licenceLocationThis position will be based in ESB Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin.ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working.
