We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead our R&D Engineering efforts. As Associate Director, you will lead global development and sustaining engineering for medical device mechanical products while serving as the R&D site lead in Ireland.
This is a senior leadership position overseeing a 20+ member team and driving innovation across product lifecycles in the medical device sector.
* Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team for injection device R&D.
* Prioritize projects aligned with business and commercial strategies.
* Develop and strengthen core engineering and science capabilities, including V&V, DFMA, and DHF compliance.
* Collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Regulatory to deliver continuous product improvements and new developments.
* Mentor and develop future leaders ensuring strong talent retention.
* Foster an innovative, collaborative culture with a focus on excellence results and accountability.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Materials Plastics Engineering or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
* 10+ years' experience in medical device engineering preferably in injection devices.
* 5+ years' leadership experience managing diverse engineering teams.
* Proven track record in product development regulatory compliance FDA ISO and high-volume manufacturing environments.
* Excellent project management problem-solving and communication skills.
* Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma and Design for manufacturability desirable.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Highly collaborative with advanced technical managerial judgment.
* Self-driven detail-oriented and results-focused.
* Willingness to travel internationally 25%+
