Job Description Position Title: General Health Nurse Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Hours: 39 hours per week Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Reporting To: Director of Nursing About the Organisation A specialist mental health hospital providing in-patient neuropsychiatric care to adults with complex and enduring mental health conditions, including Alzheimers, Parkinsons, Huntingtons, schizophrenia, and early-onset dementia. The service is the only provider of high-level specialist care for Huntingtons Disease in the country. The hospital operates a multidisciplinary team model and places a strong emphasis on evidence-based, recovery-oriented care in a therapeutic environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver general health monitoring and treatment services. Manage chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes, COPD, hypertension) in collaboration with the medical team. Administer immunisations and vaccinations to residents and staff. Conduct health screenings including ECG, BP, urinalysis, and BMI assessments. Perform clinical duties such as phlebotomy, ear irrigation, wound care, and medication administration. Participate in emergency care scenarios, including anaphylaxis and resuscitation. Lead and support staff training related to general health monitoring. Develop and maintain resident healthcare plans in conjunction with the MDT. Communicate effectively with residents and their carers regarding health-related matters. Participate in audits to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and internal policies. Collaborate with clinical teams on medical observations and care practices. Support infection prevention and control initiatives. Assist with maintaining clinical records and medical device usage compliance. Attend team meetings and support continuous professional development. Candidate Requirements Registered General Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (NMBI). Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience. Experience in mental health services desirable. Skilled in chronic disease management, wound care, and health screening. Competent in phlebotomy and ECG monitoring. Strong communication and organisational skills.
