Dovida Ireland is currently seeking compassionate Hosted Caregivers for our Hosted Care Service where a Caregiver resides in the Client's home.
Our dedicated Hosted Caregivers provide a range of non-medical services, enabling clients to continue living in the comfort of their own homes.
These services enhance their quality of life, and our Caregivers approach their work with dignity, pride, care, and compassion.
A Hosted Caregiver moves in with the hosted client, who is the primary client the caregiver lives with.
The caregiver provides a minimum of 7 hours of service per week to the primary client and may work with other clients within the primary client's vicinity.
The caregiver can provide up to 48 hours of care over six days per week in line with the Working Time Act ****.
Hosted Caregiver receives accommodation and utilities covered.
The caregiver is likely to walk or use public transport to deliver care to other clients.
A Hosted Caregiver must agree to a minimum term of no less than 3 months (12 weeks) and sign a Client House Rules agreement to reside in the hosted client's home.
While the duties below are not exhaustive, they illustrate the breadth of responsibilities.

Responsibilities of a Hosted Caregiver
These services fall under three categories:
Personal Care
Bathing assistance: Helping clients with bathing.
Dressing and grooming support: Assisting clients in dressing and grooming.
Hygiene, toileting, and incontinence care: Supporting personal hygiene, toileting, and managing incontinence.
Home Help
Light housekeeping: Dusting, vacuuming, tidying; making beds, changing linens; cleaning bathrooms and kitchens; clearing surfaces.
Laundry care: Washing, folding, and putting away laundry.
Errands and local assistance: Grocery shopping.
Pet care: Providing basic care for household pets, including feeding.
Outdoor activities: Taking clients for walks or providing fresh-air outings.
Updating daily activity logs: Regularly updating the care plan and communicating with Home Instead Care Managers regarding patient requirements.
Companionship Services
Companionship and conversation: Engaging in meaningful conversations with clients; providing emotional support and companionship.
Mobility assistance: Helping clients with stability and movement; ensuring safety during walking and transfers.
Medication and appointment reminders: Helping clients stay on track with medications; reminding them of important appointments.
Meal preparation and cleanup: Preparing meals and ensuring proper nutrition; cleaning up meal-related items afterward.
Essential Requirements and Experience
Client-centric approach: Prioritize clients' needs and treat them and their property with dignity and respect.
Adaptability: Thrive in various living environments and work in different locations.
Friendly communication: Interact with clients and family members in a warm and congenial manner.
Confidentiality: Safeguard client information with utmost discretion.
Errands and transportation: Willingness to run errands and provide incidental transportation for clients if required.
Motivated and initiative: Consistently display enthusiasm, initiative, and a pleasant demeanour.
Fit to work: Physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including manual tasks.
Flexible availability: Able to work during a variety of care visit times, including overnights and across a number of clients within a neighbourhood.
Punctuality: Excellent timekeeping and attendance across various clients.
Safety focus: Maintain a safe environment for clients.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualification: Hold a QQI qualification or equivalent in care or be actively working towards it.
If you do not currently have a QQI qualification, the company will require you to complete relevant modules after successful recruitment.
Training: Complete mandatory online training through HSELand and the Dovida Academy during the recruitment process.
Hands-on training: Attend mandatory in-person training on patient moving and manual handling with Dovida trainers.
Driving licence: Possess a full EU driving licence (may be required).
Experience: Have at least 6 months of previous experience as a caregiver.
Background check: Be able to pass a background check (Garda Vetting and International Police Clearance for each country lived in for more than 6 months since the age of 16).
Language proficiency: Communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading, and writing) to an appropriate level.
EU passport/National ID card for travel or relevant visa.
Proficient IT skills: Candidates must possess necessary IT skills to complete training, background check, QQI modules, and timesheets etc.

Minimum 30 hours guaranteed a week, which can be extended up to 48 hours maximum.
