Position: Deputy Manager – Children's Residential
Location: On-site – Drogheda, Co. Louth
Job Type: Permanent – Monday to Friday (9am–5pm) with on-call flexibility
Salary: Starting from €46,371 – (DOE) with excellent progression opportunities
About the role:
As Deputy Manager, you will work alongside the Home Manager to ensure the effective running of the residential service. You'll oversee care delivery, staff leadership, and compliance with national standards, while fostering a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for children and young people with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the Home Manager in the daily operations of the home.
· Lead, mentor, and supervise staff to maintain consistent high-quality care.
· Oversee care planning, assessments, and reviews for young people.
· Ensure compliance with childcare legislation and residential care standards.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
· Represent the home at statutory reviews, planning meetings, and inspections.
· Assist with rota planning, audits, budgets, and policy compliance.
· Participate in on-call duties and sleep-ins as required.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Minimum Level 7 qualification in Social Care or a related discipline.
· At least 3 years' experience in Children's Residential Care.
· Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
· In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, childcare legislation, and best practice.
· Full clean driver's licence.
