Job Summary:
The Engineering Manager will lead all major and sustaining capital project activities within the Operations team. They will manage long-term asset management of the site and provide strategic guidance to continually optimise plant safety, performance, efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership, Management & Culture:
o Develop project and engineering resourcing strategy.
o Proactively engage employees and maintain positive employee relations.
o Develop and maintain an environment of continuous improvement and process excellence.
o Develop key cross-functional relationships with Production, Quality, Environmental and Maintenance departments.
* Capital Program Execution and Engineering Strategy Development:
o Manage implementation of Capital Expenditure program.
o Ensure all projects are compliant with all relevant health, safety, environmental, quality standards and procurement policy.
o Provide innovative solutions, pre-engineering activities and project cost estimates for Strategic and Capital projects.
o Direct and manage all stages of each project from planning to completion throughout the project lifecycle.
o Draft and submit budget proposals, deliver progress reports and manage project resource allocations.
* Reliability, Performance & Problem Solving:
o Work closely with the maintenance manager to provide leadership and coordination of major planned maintenance interventions.
o Lead root cause analysis and problem solving relating to plant downtime events.
o Develop corrective action plans to mitigate risk of unplanned downtime.
o Achieve all plant productivity metrics (throughput, efficiency, etc.).
* Compliance:
o Compliance with relevant statutory, regulatory requirements and internal governance requirements.
o Ensure the Project management and Engineering teams adhere to all relevant health, safety, environmental and quality standards while delivering on key plant objectives.
Qualifications:
* BSc Degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Process Engineering or other relevant Engineering discipline.
* Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in a senior engineering or capital projects management role.
* Competency regarding safety regulations for large scale manufacturing sites.
* Proven track record of team leadership, people management and IR experience.
* Strong organisation, communication & interpersonal skills.
* A proven track record in planning & problem solving, self-motivated with ability to deliver to deadlines.
* Ability to lead, empower and motivate employees to ensure KPI's are achieved.
