Electrical & PLC Maintenance Technician Permanent | Full-Time | Salaried, Shift-Based (Days and Nights) South Dublin An experienced Electrical & PLC Maintenance Technician is required to support a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical, PLC, and electro-mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities Provide electrical, PLC, HMI, and mechanical fault-finding support across high-speed production and packaging lines.
Carry out planned, preventive, and predictive maintenance using a CMMS.
Install, modify, and maintain electrical and PLC-controlled equipment, including motors, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam systems.
Diagnose and repair electrical systems, wiring, control panels, and PLC/SCADA interfaces.
Monitor equipment performance and intervene proactively to minimise downtime.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC programs, and technical drawings.
Support continuous improvement initiatives, including maintenance reporting and equipment upgrade recommendations.
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, quality, and electrical industry standards.
Participate in an on-call rota as required.
Support departmental KPIs, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and support teams.
Contribute to performance reviews, training, and cross-skilling initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Recognised electrical qualification with strong PLC programming and troubleshooting capability.
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within a regulated, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong electro-mechanical knowledge with a multi-skilled mindset.
Proven experience working with AC/DC systems up to three-phase.
Competent using electrical test equipment and hand/power tools.
Strong awareness of quality, health, and safety standards.
Analytical problem-solver with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
