The Role
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will support the requirements of the client’s Quality Management Systems and Client Specification Requirements. Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring full implementation of the Project Quality Management System.
2. Performing internal and external Quality Audits.
3. Coordinating special processes such as Welding, NDT, PWHT, and Pressure testing.
4. Monitoring and inspecting material receipt processes.
5. Managing quality records including coupons, welder qualifications, NDT reports, material test reports, pressure test packs, and calibration records.
6. Inspecting daily weld coupons and records.
7. Managing inspectors to ensure all production is inspected and records are maintained.
8. Ensuring welding consumable controls align with the project plan.
9. Maintaining current welding qualifications for the welding team.
10. Compiling process statistics for welding and testing.
11. Managing NDT reports and radiographic films for review, ensuring accuracy to standards.
12. Coordinating inspections and tests with client third-party representatives.
13. Overseeing system package handovers and maintaining information dossiers.
14. Maintaining calibration certificates and ensuring re-calibration is performed timely.
15. Managing subcontractor quality documentation and work packages.
16. Performing final QC checks pre- and post-test.
Person Specification
Desirable qualifications include a degree in Quality or Mechanical Engineering, understanding of welding technology, CSWIP Welding Inspection qualification, and NDT PCN/SNT Qualification. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 is preferred. Essential skills include strong communication, attention to detail, teamwork, multitasking, technical understanding, ownership, decisiveness, and organizational skills.
