As an M&E Coordinator with Kilcawley Construction, you will report directly to a Contracts Manager and assist Project Managers in procuring, managing, and handing over mechanical and electrical subcontractor scopes as part of larger building projects. The role involves actively participating in the safe, timely execution of works in accordance with project budget, programme, and quality requirements.
General
1. Support the Contracts Manager and Project Managers to effectively deliver mechanical and electrical services on large building projects with values from EUR3m to EUR20m.
2. Serve as the first point of contact for M&E subcontractors and the Design Team on queries.
3. Chair fortnightly meetings with M&E contractors to review programme and progress.
4. Sense check M&E RFIs and submittals, maintaining updated logs.
5. Oversee commissioning progress and activities, particularly for safety-critical systems required for Practical Completion.
6. Manage snagging of M&E installations and record on iPad App.
7. Coordinate M&E services within the building using BIM, across contractors and CSA packages, and produce M&E installation drawings.
8. Produce builders works (BwIC) drawings for service openings through walls and floors.
Health and Safety
1. Ensure safety-critical M&E installations are fully functional prior to handover.
2. Deliver works in the safest manner possible, supporting the Site Manager, H&S Advisor, and Contracts Manager, in compliance with legislative requirements.
3. Assist M&E contractors on site to execute works as per approved method statements and risk assessments.
4. Report safety incidents and accidents to the Safety Advisor & Company Directors per protocols.
5. Strive for Zero Harm on all worksites for workers and third parties.
Technical/Quality
1. Responsibility for successful delivery of multiple projects from a time and commercial perspective.
2. Ensure project delivery is on time, snag-free, and meets client satisfaction.
3. Have technical understanding of HVAC, fire alarm, lighting, emergency systems, LTHW systems, electrical distribution, access, and maintenance requirements.
4. Coordinate with the team to ensure timely and accurate information flow, resolve technical issues, and ensure work quality as per specifications and plans.
Management
1. Act as first point of contact for daily M&E subcontractor and Design Team queries.
2. Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, QS, and workforce for successful project completion.
3. Monitor progress against contract programme and escalate delays or risks.
4. Assist in producing and revising contract and sub-programmes.
5. Maintain professional conduct and protect business interests.
