Job Type: Permanent
Location: Letterkenny GDC, Co. Donegal (Hybrid – minimum 3 days onsite per week)
Role Overview
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic high‑performing engineering team. This role operates at the intersection of automation, application development and operational ownership, supporting multiple application teams across a shared services environment. Your focus will be on building reusable tools, modernising legacy systems, establishing scalable engineering patterns and working within a small senior team with high ownership. This is a hands‑on engineering role focused on building and scaling solutions rather than traditional support.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and own CI/CD pipelines and workflows (GitHub Actions preferred), acting as a subject matter expert, and establish modern SDLC practices
Develop reusable automation tools, frameworks, and libraries used across engineering teams
Modernise legacy systems including refactoring scripts and implementing scalable solutions
Build and integrate logging and monitoring solutions across Splunk, Dynatrace, and Azure Log Analytics
Lead Managed File Transfer (MFT) modernization and improve data flows across enterprise systems
Contribute to operational ownership including L2/L3 incident triage, system hardening and reliability improvements
Support cloud initiatives and platform improvements across Azure and AWS environments
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to establish shared engineering standards, patterns and best practices
Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver solutions independently
Essential skills, knowledge and experience
Core Requirements
Strong, proven experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or automation‑focused roles
Hands‑on experience building reusable tools, frameworks or engineering solutions
Strong experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines and SDLC practices
Demonstrated ability to modernise or replace legacy systems
Strong ownership mindset with ability to work independently
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Technical Requirements
Strong proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (PowerShell preferred, Python acceptable)
Hands‑on experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI)
Experience with observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Azure Log Analytics
Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS)
Familiarity with distributed systems, automation, and platform engineering
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience
Experience working in Agile or DevOps delivery environments
Strong application development experience (especially in Azure)
Experience with Managed File Transfer (MFT), data pipelines, or ETL processes
Knowledge of security, compliance and governance in cloud environments
Experience using AI tools such as Copilot to improve engineering productivity
