Overview
The Coop is looking for a Video & Content Editor to join our team. This role is central to producing high-quality content across formats. We work on a wide range of projects at all times, from fast-turnaround social edits to long-form projects, brand films, documentaries, corporate videos, and commercial campaigns. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of video editing and motion graphics skills and is eager to step into a senior role, helping shape The Coop’s editing style and approach to content creation. While the focus is on offline editing, you should also be comfortable handling basic colour grading and sound mixing on lower-budget edits, ensuring projects are delivered to a polished standard when specialist team members are not available. We are looking for editors who love telling stories and creating social-first content that connects with audiences across platforms, with strong communication skills and a personable approach for direct client interaction during reviews and day-to-day collaboration with the production team.
Responsibilities
* Content Editing: Deliver engaging edits across a variety of formats — social cutdowns, branded content, commercial work, and longer-form projects.
* Motion Graphics: Design and animate titles, infographics, and graphic elements to enhance storytelling.
* Social-First Creativity: Create platform-specific edits for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other social channels.
* Storytelling: Craft narratives with strong pacing, rhythm, and emotional impact, tailored to each audience and format.
* Collaboration: Work closely with creative directors, producers, and designers to bring campaign ideas to life, while communicating clearly with clients and colleagues.
* Post-Production: Manage media assets, perform basic colour correction and audio mixing, and prepare files for delivery across platforms. (Grading and mixing teams are in-house, but you should be confident delivering smaller projects independently.)
* Quality Control: Implement feedback quickly and consistently while maintaining high standards of quality.
* Fast Turnaround: Manage multiple edits simultaneously, delivering on tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
Qualifications
* 3+ years’ professional experience in video editing, with a strong portfolio showcasing both short-form and long-form work.
* Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
* Experience editing across formats from social-first content to documentaries and commercials.
* Strong interest in social-focused content, with a drive to elevate and innovate in this space.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced production environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in client-facing reviews.
* Collaborative, detail-oriented, and highly organised.
