Overview
We are seeking an experienced SQL/Java Developer to support a major banking client in Dublin. This role will focus on building and enhancing applications and integrations around the Multifonds platform, modernising reporting layers, and ensuring robust, scalable solutions for complex financial operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java development, SQL database design and optimisation, and prior exposure to Multifonds (Accounting & Custody modules). You will work closely with business SMEs, architects, and technical teams to deliver high-quality, compliant, and auditable solutions.
Qualifications
Database & SQL Development
* Develop and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database schemas.
* Ensure high performance and reliability of data access layers.
* Support data validation, reconciliation, and reporting requirements.
Application Development & Integration
* Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java and related frameworks.
* Build and optimise integrations between Multifonds and upstream/downstream systems (fund accounting, custody, transfer agency, risk, treasury).
* Implement secure, scalable APIs and services to support data exchange and reporting.
Reporting & Data Solutions
* Modernise reporting pipelines and ensure consistent data structures across regulatory, financial, and operational reports.
* Collaborate with data architecture teams to align with target-state models.
Stakeholder Collaboration
* Work closely with banking SMEs to validate business rules, mapping logic, and integration requirements.
* Participate in workshops, walkthroughs, and technical discussions with business and IT stakeholders.
Essential skills
* Strong experience in Java (Spring, Hibernate, or similar frameworks).
* Advanced SQL development, performance tuning, and data optimisation skills.
* Proven experience working with Multifonds platform (Accounting, Custody or both).
* Solid understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
* Familiarity with financial instrument data, transactions, valuations, positions, NAV, cash movements, corporate actions.
Desired skills
* Experience with banking change programmes or large-scale system integrations.
* Knowledge of Agile delivery and DevOps practices.
* Exposure to ETL/ELT processes and data modelling standards (Kimball, Data Vault).

* A hands-on developer with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Someone comfortable working in complex, regulated banking environments.
* Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
