We are partnering with a fast-growing, private equity-backed firm professional services firm, seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead its tax strategy, compliance, and advisory functions. This is a senior leadership role ideally suited for a tax professional who wants scope, autonomy, and flexibility including a hybrid/home-office working arrangement.
What You’ll Do
* Own the firm’s entire tax function: direct tax, indirect tax, cross-border tax, transfer pricing, and tax advisory.
* Develop and implement a strategic tax roadmap aligned with growth plans, acquisitions, and international expansion.
* Lead all tax compliance, filings, audits, and reporting, ensuring adherence to Irish, EU, and applicable international tax regimes.
* Serve as the internal tax authority: advise senior management, board, and investment teams on tax implications of transactions, investments, reorganizations, and restructurings.
* Collaborate closely with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
* Build and lead a high-calibre tax team (and external relationships), providing mentorship, technical oversight, and development opportunities.
* Monitor tax law developments, assess business impact, and drive continual updating of tax policies and processes.
* Support due diligence, modeling, and structuring in M&A, PE investments, and corporate finance initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
* Qualified tax professional (Chartered Tax Adviser / Chartered Accountant with tax specialization / equivalent) with senior leadership experience (minimum ~8-10 years in tax, at least ~3-5 years at leadership level).
* Proven track record across both corporate tax and indirect tax (e.g. VAT, EU trade, withholding) in Ireland and ideally in cross-border environments.
* Experience working with private equity-backed or high-growth enterprises, especially in structuring, M&A, and cross-border investment scenarios.
* Strong technical knowledge of Irish tax law, EU directives, OECD BEPS rules, transfer pricing, holding company regimes, group relief, and incentives.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — ability to present complex tax concepts in business terms, influence leadership, and lead board-level discussions.
* Leadership and people management experience, including building or scaling a tax team.
* Strong commercial orientation: ability to balance tax efficiency with business objectives, risk management, and compliance.
* Self-motivated and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with flexibility and partial remote working.
Why This Role Is Attractive
* Broad scope and influence: you own the tax agenda and will be trusted to shape the direction of the function.
* Growing, ambitious organization backed by private equity, meaningful opportunity to scale and impact strategic decisions.
* Flexibility and hybrid working arrangements.
* Exposure to deals, PE investments, cross-border operations, and ambitious growth plans.
* Senior executive role with visibility and influence across management, finance, and deal teams.
Please apply if you wish to be considered for this opportunity.
