As an architectural technologist, your primary focus will be on collaborating closely with architects, designers, and engineers to design architecture for construction projects. You will be responsible for evaluating environmental, legal, and regulatory issues, contributing to planning applications, and identifying necessary surveys.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate and advise on environmental, legal, and regulatory matters.
* Contribute to planning applications and other regulatory procedures.
* Identify required surveys (e.g., land surveys) before work commences and ensure they are undertaken and their results incorporated into the project.
* Develop project briefs and work on these as the project progresses.
* Prepare and present design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD).
* Carry out design-stage risk assessments.
* Administer contracts and project certification.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Relevant technical qualification.
* Ability to produce high-quality technical drawings.
* Excellent communication/presentation skills.
* Proficiency in Archicad is essential.
* Sketchup and Photoshop skills – desirable.
* Hand-drawing/sketching skills – advantageous.
