Job description Our client is a specialist engineering firm that have a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor to be based in Co. Tipperary, where they are delivering high-quality engineering projects across various sectors. They are seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is based on-site in Tipperary, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30am 5:00pm. Your new job Key Duties & Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and project resources in line with technical specifications. Participate in tendering processes, evaluate bids, and assist in procurement and supplier management. Carry out quantity take-offs with a particular focus on piping systems using piping isometrics and P&ID drawings. Monitor and control project budgets, producing regular financial reports and forecasts. Administer contracts, manage variations and change orders, and resolve any contractual disputes. Identify and assess financial and project risks, offering mitigation strategies as required. Maintain up-to-date and accurate project documentation, including cost records and final accounts. Work closely with project teams to ensure financial control and project delivery targets are met. What are we looking for? Minimum of 3 years experience working as a Project Quantity Surveyor, preferably in an engineering or mechanical contracting environment. Proven ability to read and interpret piping isometric drawings and P&ID diagrams, with experience carrying out piping measurements. Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of design standards, technical documentation, and applicable construction regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management software. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple project deadlines. Full driving licence and access to own transport is essential.
