Assistant Staff Officer Recruitment (Human Resources) Location: Dublin 8 Contract Type: Part-Time, Specified Purpose Contract (612 months) Hours: 21 hours per week (3 days, MondayFriday) Salary:€23,460 (non negotiable) Annual Leave:14 days, exclusive of public holidays An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Staff Officer Recruitment (HR) to join a busy Human Resources & Payroll team within a leading higher education institution.
This role will provide high-quality HR and recruitment support to staff across the organisation and will work closely with senior HR leadership on recruitment delivery, onboarding, HR administration, and policy-related projects.
The position is offered on a specified purpose basis and is funded through a time-bound strategic enhancement initiative.

Key Responsibilities: Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting job descriptions, coordinating interviews, and supporting offer stages Coordinate staff onboarding and induction processes, ensuring all pre-employment requirements are met Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of recruitment and onboarding checklists Maintain and update HR systems and employee records in line with GDPR requirements Monitor staff contracts, renewals, and contract variations Prepare staff documentation using approved templates and HR systems Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support recruitment and HR operations Assist with internal and external audit data requests Contribute to the efficiency and service delivery of the HR & Payroll function Undertake additional duties as required by senior HR management Essential Criteria: NFQ Level 6 qualification or equivalent relevant experience Proven experience delivering high-quality customer service in a complex organisation Experience in high-volume HR and/or recruitment administration Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and identify process improvements Strong IT skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace Desirable Criteria: Experience using recruitment or HR systems (Core HR experience desirable) Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, employment legislation, and best practice Experience working in a higher education or public sector environment Please submit your CV to Anne Marie in Lex Consultancy today Please note only candidates that match the minimum job requirements above will be contacted for this role.
