Role overview
As a Product Manager, within the Banking Consulting Group, the person will be responsible across the stages of the Product Lifecycle – requirement & product design review, update terms and conditions, customer onboarding, customer impact assessment, client communication and managing customer queries post‑implementation. This person should be a subject matter expert in payments, with 6–10 years of experience and a background in product management. The role involves close collaboration with client business, corporate/retail customers and the internal development team.
Role Responsibilities
Interact with business owners, product development teams, product vendors, other application owners, external and internal customers to identify requirements and deliver them within stipulated timelines.
Provide content leadership in working with clients to define solutions to their business requirements.
Agree on engagement outcomes for the client.
Lead high‑level business and project review meetings for payments system modernization/transformation.
Engage with business stakeholders for requirements review and design.
Work with delivery/implementation teams to provide domain inputs and ensure delivery and implementation of the proposed solution.
Collaborate with the technical team to ensure that requirements are clear and well understood.
Translate design into customer‑facing documents and manage customer queries.
Work on terms & conditions and customer impact assessment.
Work on SWIFT ISO messages, Faster Payments Services, Instant Payments, and other payment protocols.
Ensure a good understanding of the global payments landscape, including direct debits/credits and key players for retail and wholesale payments.
Act as a catalyst between client and IT.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of industry experience in the BFSI domain with a focus on cards and payments.
Experience with low‑value payments (SCT & SEPA Instant), high‑value payments, cross‑border payments, VISA scheme, and key regulations such as PSD2.
Expertise in messaging schemas and formats.
Good communication skills with the ability to lead domain discussions with BFSI customers.
Engineering degree; MBA is preferred.
