Security Officer - Mental Health Services

We are currently seeking experienced Security Officers to join Nua Healthcare’s new Mental Health Services team, ensuring the highest quality of care and safety for patients with mental disorders.
Job Objectives
Ensure services are delivered with the highest quality and safety standards to our patients with mental disorders.
Main Duties
* To provide physical protection to patients, staff, visitors, and all persons while on the property.
* To protect company property, cars, and assets.
* Issue and control of keys.
* Patrol the unit and boundary to guard against damage, fire, trespass, vandalism, theft, assault, and wastage.
* List and report to the Head of Security any property lost, stolen, or recovered within the unit.
* Maintain all appropriate records deemed necessary in relation to security.
* Monitor CCTV.
* Respond to all requests of a security nature (e.g., difficult visitors/patients).
* Be familiar with the aims and objectives of the unit security.
* Attend duty at the time specified.
* Work night duty and day duty as rostered.
* Maintain a neat appearance and dress to a high level of dress and deportment, wearing any uniform clothing or identification issued by management.
* Ensure implementation of Nua Policies and Procedures (e.g., Tobacco Free Policy, Parking Policy, Observation Policy).
* Comply with all Infection Prevention and Control requirements including hand hygiene, standard precautions, dress code, and health and safety.
* Operate and become familiar with all firefighting, access control communications, and equipment required from time to time.
* Carry out all fire prevention and security patrols within and outside the unit, as directed.
* Advise management on any matters relating to security, traffic control, and fire prevention that may require attention.
* Control traffic and parking on the unit grounds as directed and liaise with any external bodies managing parking.
* Investigate and report on incidents occurring in the unit.
* Carry out security functions in the implementation of the Major Accident Plan.
* Liaise with An Garda Síochána on matters relating to security.
* Provide necessary escorts for personnel and property as may be required.
* Maintain and update any IT database as required.
Skills Requirement
Qualification:
* PSA licence
Experience:
* Recent experience within the last 3 years working in Security Services or related services.
* Experience within a hospital setting highly desirable.
Skills:

* Excellent organisational skills; self‑motivated and self‑starter.
