Location:Great Island Power Station, Wexford (on-site)Start Date:1 February 2026Contract:5-month full-time assignmentHours:39 hours/week (Monday–Friday), with occasional evening/weekend overtimeSalary:€920 per week + paid overtimeWe are seeking an engineer to support a major outage project at a large power generation facility in Wexford. This is a fully on-site role requiring strong technical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will support senior engineering staff with tasks such as:Conducting field surveys of existing pipework and pipe supportsSupporting supervision of mechanical upgrade works during the outageAttending technical meetings and documenting progress and queriesCompiling technical documentation related to piping materials, control valves, safety relief valves, gaskets and pipe supportsPerforming walkdowns and marking up mechanical drawings and schematicsWitnessing testing of high-pressure piping, pumps and control componentsMinimum RequirementsLevel 8 degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred; Electrical, Civil or Energy also acceptable)Minimum of 12 months post-graduation experience in a technical environment (industry, construction, consultancy, etc.)Competence in AutoCAD (essential)Excellent Microsoft Office skillsStrong written and spoken EnglishAbility to work safely and effectively in an industrial site environmentAdditional DetailsAs the location is remote, daily commuting is not practical. Candidates must arrange accommodation near the power station for the duration of the project.Candidates must have (or be eligible to obtain): Irish residency permission, PPS Number, and an Irish bank account.Full-time presence on site is required for the full duration of the contract.
