The Role As Assistant Accommodation Manager, you will be a key member of the management team, responsible for maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards in line with our 4-star expectations.
Reporting to the Accommodation Manager, you will support them in the day-to-day running of the department and confidently lead the team in their absence.
You will oversee operational hygiene standards across the hotel, including front-of-house and food & beverage areas, while managing and developing the accommodation team to ensure efficiency, consistency, and excellence in service delivery.
We are seeking a professional, hands-on leader with strong attention to detail and the ability to motivate and direct a large team.
Key Responsibilities Ensure the smooth and efficient daily operation of the Accommodation Department Monitor room occupancy levels and respond proactively to daily business needs Liaise closely with Reception regarding room moves, VIPs, and special requests Issue keys, room lists, cleaning schedules, and checklists at the beginning of shifts Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure 4-star standards are consistently met Supervise Accommodation Assistants and Linen Porters, coordinating with Maintenance as required Ensure maintenance issues are addressed promptly to maximise room availability Assist in developing and implementing departmental standards and procedures Train, mentor, and monitor staff performance in line with company standards Support recruitment and onboarding in collaboration with HRPrepare departmental rotas in line with forecasted business levels Monitor wage costs and departmental expenses Manage stock control of linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies Minimise wastage and promote energy efficiency Support other departments during busy periods as required Ideal Candidate Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accommodation Supervisory or Management role Experience within a 4-star hotel environment preferred Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent customer service and communication skills Fluent English (written and spoken)Exceptional attention to detail Flexible and adaptable approach to work This is a full-time permanent position.
Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, flexibility is required, including shift and weekend work.
