Your New Company: Your new company is a Dublin-based fabrication firm is seeking a highly skilled Steel Detailer to translate complex structural designs into high-precision, production-ready 3D models and shop drawings. You will work primarily within the SolidWorks environment to support our advanced fabrication, laser cutting, and robotic welding lines. Key Responsibilities 3D Modeling: Develop accurate 3D models of structural frames, mezzanine floors, and bespoke architectural metalwork (stairs, railings) using SolidWorks Drafting & Documentation: Produce comprehensive GA (General Arrangement) drawings, fabrication shop drawings, and site erection plans. Manufacturing Output: Generate STEP files for laser cutting and CNC machinery, as well as digital Quality Packs for production. BOM Management: Create detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production orders, often integrating with ERP systems like SAP. BIM Coordination: Lead clash detection and design discussions with architects and engineers to resolve RFIs before they reach the workshop floor. Your Backgroun: Experience: 3-5+ years in structural steel detailing within the Irish or UK market. Software: Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks (Weldments, Sheet Metal). Familiarity with AutoCAD and BIM tools (e.g., Tekla or Revit) is a strong advantage. Technical Standards: Deep understanding of Irish Building Regulations and international standards like ISO/IEC for steel connections. Education: Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related technical drafting qualification.
