Job Title: Dispatch Manager
Location: Rosderra Irish Meats, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim
Reporting to: Site Manager
Role Profile:
This position is part of the site management team and has responsibility for the Dispatch, Chilled & Frozen Storage area of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Intake & Storage Management:
o Oversight of systems and procedures for intake of chilled and frozen products.
o Management of cold storage facilities such as blast freezers.
o Optimal product handling and storage conditions to maintain quality.
* Dispatch Operations:
o Lead dispatch activities for fresh and frozen products to FMCG and retail customers.
o Development and maintenance of systems and procedures ensuring timely and accurate order fulfilment.
* Systems & Documentation:
o Manage stock using SAP and Business Warehouse systems.
o Preparation and management of documentation for both export and home market consignments.
o Handling Health Certificates, including TRACES documentation and compliance.
* Team Management:
o Time and attendance management for dispatch personnel via our time management system.
o Organisation of dispatch personnel's annual leave.
o Performance and training management of team.
o Active participation in recruitment and development of dispatch team in collaboration with HR.
* Compliance & Quality:
o Maintenance and enforcement of HACCP food safety systems across all operations.
o Full compliance with internal and external food safety, quality, and traceability standards.
* Continuous Improvement:
o Participation in daily PIT meeting and lean processes.
o LEAN initiatives contribution and team meetings participation.
o Implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce cost, and drive performance.
* Cost & KPI Management:
o Control costs and drive delivery of departmental KPIs.
o Loss prevention and stock discrepancies monitoring and management.
* Customer Service:
o Maintenance of high standards of service and communication with key customers and internal stakeholders.
o Point of contact for issue resolution related to delivery, stock, and product condition.
* Health & Safety:
o Promotion and enforcement of safe working practices in line with company H&S policies.
* Transport Coordination:
o Liaison with intercompany transport teams for efficient movement of goods.
Key Requirements:
* 3-5 years experience in a dispatch, warehouse, or cold store management role (ideally within FMCG or food industry).
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle pressure and manage competing priorities.
* I.T. skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Strong understanding of chilled and frozen supply chain operations.
* Proficiency in SAP and stock management systems.
* Experience working with HACCP, LEAN, and health & safety frameworks.
* Excellent team leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Knowledge of export documentation and regulatory compliance.
* Able to manage people and performance, motivate teams, and drive improvement.
