Job Title: Executive Director
The Executive Director is responsible for leading strategic growth and operational excellence across finance and human resources.
Role Overview
We are a registered charity, an accredited online education service for young people who are not in mainstream education. Our mission is to engage young people in learning, build confidence and self-esteem, offer accreditation opportunities, and support progression to further education and employment.
Main Responsibilities
* Partner with the CEO and senior leadership group to shape and deliver organisational strategy, strengthen leadership, and drive effective financial and operational planning
* Provide strategic advice and reports on financial performance and sustainability
* Lead financial operations, including maintaining accounts, budgets, and reconciliations in line with internal financial controls, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
* Ensure that appropriate financial management procedures, systems, and controls are implemented, including managing pension and payroll
* Oversee the annual financial audit
* Support funding applications and manage funding contracts, including reporting, milestones, and budgets
* Adhere to service level agreements and regulatory requirements
* Lead human resource management, culture, and people strategy, including recruitment, onboarding, training, CPD, and record-keeping
* Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures
* Oversee general office management, including management of the Administrator
* Chair team meetings with a focus on collaboration and operational support
* Lead projects
* Develop our public profile, including representation at events and meetings
Requirements
The successful candidate will have financial and human resources experience with at least three years' senior leadership experience within a similar sector. A knowledge of accounting and financial management systems is required. Experience using a customer relationship management (CRM) system and productivity tools is essential. The ability to ensure data protection compliance and adherence to regulatory and industry standards is also required.
