This position is responsible for installing, testing, and maintaining dedicated B2B Enterprise solutions over fibre, copper, and wireless circuits. The technician ensures reliable connectivity for DIA, P2P and other data services while providing professional on-site support to business customers.The role is Dublin/Greater Dublin area**based.Specific Duties &**; Tasks:Perform on-site installation and activation of B2B access services (fibre, copper, wireless, lease- d lines).Conduct site surveys, cable routing, and infrastructure readiness checks before de- ployment.Configuration, Installation and testing of customer premise equipment (CPE) which include Ciena and Cisco switches on the Virgin Media- network.Troubleshoot service issues on-site and remotely, ensuring timely resolution within SLA com- mitments.Ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed standards of- quality.Collaborate with B2B Access, splicing, and Project management teams to complete service- delivery.Maintain accurate records of installations, service calls, and test- results.Support the regular software and hardware upgrades for B2B Fibre & Wireless systems across the VMIE- footprintEnsure compliance with safety regulations and telecom industry standards during field ac- tivities.Provide clear communication and technical guidance to business customers during and after insta- llations.Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and emergency field**support.Skills &**Expertise:Essential:Hands-on experience with telecom field installations (fibre splicing, copper cabling, structu- red cabling)Strong understanding of network connectivity (TCP/IP, Ethernet, rou- ting basics)Experience with telecom test equipment (OTDR, power meters, Layer 2 & 3 Network tes- ters, etc.)Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, fibre maps, and- work ordersExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solvi- ng abilitiesStrong customer service skills with a professional demeanour in client-- facing rolesFull Valid Dri- ving LicenceComputer literate in Microsoft OfficeapplicationsDesirable: Diploma or certification in Telecommunications, Networking, or- related fieldFiber Optics Technician Certification (CFOT o- r equivalent)Cisco CCNA or Com- pTIA Network+Safety training certifications (e.g., SafePass, manual handling, First Aid)The Person:First-class problem-solving skills who gets to the hea- rt of the matterThe ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with the business while ascertaining the key impact/detail behind th- e issue/request.A team player who can lead by example and inspi- re others daily.Flexible approach to work, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and- embrace change.Extremely organised and a methodical approach to both daily tasks- and project workAbility to work under pressure to deliver tight project deadlines &- ; resolve faultsFlexible approach to workingunsociable hoursVirgin Media is an equal opportunities employer.
