The role
Our client, a well-established commercial vehicle operation based in Wexford, is currently seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their growing workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified technician with experience working on Scania or Volvo trucks to secure a long-term role with strong earning potential and excellent working conditions.
The role involves servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of a modern fleet of HGVs and trailers, ensuring all work is completed to manufacturer and RSA standards.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
Complete engine, gearbox, brake, suspension, and transmission repairs
Perform CVRT preparation and inspections
Use diagnostic equipment and manufacturer systems efficiently
Maintain accurate job cards and service records
Work safely and efficiently within a busy workshop environment
Requirements
Qualified HGV / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
Experience working on Scania or Volvo trucks preferred
Strong diagnostics and fault-finding ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Full clean driving licence (HGV licence advantageous)
Good communication and organisational skills
