Roadway maintenance technician

Job Opportunity

This role requires an individual with a strong ability to perform equipment operations, maintenance tasks and labor responsibilities in roadway maintenance.

* Emergency Response: Prepare and operate equipment for snow and ice removal or other emergency situations. Clear roadways of debris, snow and ice, and provide traffic control following established guidelines.
* Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain light, medium and heavy-duty highway equipment and vehicles for maintenance and construction work.
* Workplace Safety: Identify potential hazards and apply protective measures. Utilize proper safety equipment and stay informed about current safety regulations and best practices.
* Manual Labor: Participate as a team member to complete projects and objectives. Perform manual labor and other maintenance tasks to ensure assigned work is completed efficiently.
* Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and repairs to prevent equipment failure. Ensure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained before use.
* Traffic Control Devices: Install, maintain and remove traffic control devices in designated areas, adhering to MUTCD guidelines. Assist in inventory management and record-keeping.
