Cost Centre Manager - Ireland (Ground and Water)
WSP is looking for a talented individual to take on the role of Cost Centre Manager for Ireland within the Ground and Water team. The role incorporates staff in Ireland and India and covers contaminated land, nature services, environmental consenting and geotechnical. Candidates should have strong people management, leadership and interpersonal qualities and strong business management experience. The Cost Centre Manager is an integral part of the leadership team, shaping direction and growth alongside specialist team leaders.
About The Role
Deliver the cost centre budget (utilisation, net revenue and EBITDA) while ensuring sufficient investment in business development and technical training.
Support the four Team Leads (Contaminated Land, Environmental Consenting, Nature Services and Geotechnical) to grow and develop, driving commercial focus and managing change control.
Appoint, monitor and manage Project Directors to deliver projects that meet client satisfaction, quality and financial targets.
Maintain a culture of health and safety, ensuring all Safety Critical Activities and site visits meet required standards.
Optimise team performance, career development and progression, aligning people with business objectives.
Lead recruitment activities to drive organic growth and support bidding and opportunities across the team.
Promote a technical excellence culture, reviewing all projects for high standard delivery.
Drive sustainable growth of the team through pipeline strengthening and cross‑selling.
Ensure projects meet performance targets, providing regular 1:1 meetings for wellbeing and development.
Maintain employee engagement, addressing retention concerns and fostering a culture of openness and respect.
Own and deliver the Service Team strategy, engaging with stakeholders and upholding WSP values on HSSE, diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications
Proven experience managing a cost centre or similar financial role.
Strong business acumen with ability to drive growth and improve profitability.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with experience of managing cross‑cultural teams.
Strategic thinking combined with a hands‑on approach to project delivery.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with executive stakeholders.
Strong organisational skills, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
