Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Electrician to support the delivery of electrical installation work on a large-scale industrial project in Ireland. The role involves installing, terminating, and testing electrical systems in compliance with Irish regulations and project specifications. Candidates should have experience in industrial or heavy commercial installations and be able to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install, bend, and support conduit systems (including steel trunking, cable tray, basket, and ladder rack systems).
* Pull, terminate, and test electrical and control cabling for LV (Low Voltage) and ELV (Extra-Low Voltage) systems.
* Install electrical equipment such as distribution boards, motor control centres (MCCs), switchgear, and field instruments.
* Interpret electrical schematics, site drawings, and installation specifications accurately.
* Carry out point-to-point testing, continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and other commissioning support.
* Comply with the ETCI regulations (now under the National Rules for Electrical Installations – I.S. 10101).
* Work in accordance with company safety policies and participate in toolbox talks and site safety inductions.
* Record and update red-line drawings, installation check sheets, and handover documentation.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Fully qualified Electrician or Electrical & instrumentation (National Craft Certificate).
* 3+ years’ experience working on industrial or large-scale commercial electrical installations.
* Strong knowledge of I.S. 10101:2020 (Irish wiring rules).
* Ability to read and work from electrical drawings, cable schedules, and method statements.
* Excellent awareness of health and safety practices on construction sites.
Desirable:
* Experience working on pharmaceutical, data centre, or manufacturing projects.
* Familiarity with instrumentation wiring or hazardous area (ATEX) installations is a plus.
Working Conditions:
* Site-based work on active industrial construction projects.
* May involve working in confined spaces, at heights, or in varied weather conditions.
