You will be responsible for managing multiple construction and remediation projects concurrently from inception through to completion, overseeing 15-20 active projects with 4-8 being acted on at any one time. Project values range from £10k to £100k+, involving fire and flood restoration, remediation works, and general building projects.Working primarily from our Newmarket office with occasional site visits, you will coordinate four regional site teams, manage resources, and work closely with our consulting team to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients and homeowners. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 4-6 years of construction or contracts management experience looking to develop their career in a supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesProject ManagementCost scopes of work, read and understand structural engineers' plans, and write method statementsPlan and deliver projects within budget and agreed timeframesManage 15-20 active projects across the region, prioritising resources effectivelyCompile interim and final accounts ready for invoicing within agreed SLAsOrganise site teams, labour, skips, waste disposal and all project logisticsTeam and Subcontractor ManagementEffectively manage all resources associated with projects, including in-house staff and subcontractorsMonitor performance through site visits, audits and snaggingCoordinate four regional site teams with support from Assistant Contracts ManagerIdentify training needs for site operatives and deliver toolbox talksCoach and guide team members to achieve high levels of productivityClient and Stakeholder RelationsLiaise with and develop relationships with clients and homeownersEnsure transparency in all stages of the projectWork closely with environmental consultants to deliver building worksMaintain effective communication with the consulting team based in NewmarketHealth, Safety and ComplianceEnsure all projects are fully compliant with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental legislationProduce and maintain all required documentation and recordsEnsure remediation of properties to remove contamination from buildings and land where requiredFollow company procedures and industry best practicesSkills, Knowledge & ExpertiseEssential Requirements4-6 years of experience in a contracts management or similar role within construction, remediation or related industriesProven experience managing multiple projects concurrentlyStrong people management skills with the ability to influence and coach teamsExcellent organisational and planning skills with ability to prioritise effectivelyExperience coordinating site teams, subcontractors and engineersAbility to read and interpret structural engineers' plans and technical documentationStrong commercial awareness with budget management experienceFull UK driving licenceSelf-starting ability with problem-solving skills and sound judgementDesirableExperience in insurance restoration or fire and flood remediation workBackground in remediation of contaminated landSMSTS qualificationDirect experience in the environmental services sectorWhat We're Looking ForWe seek a practical and organised contracts manager who can effectively coordinate multiple projects while managing teams and maintaining strong client relationships.
