Killarney Royal Townhouse, is looking for an experienced, efficient and well organized Maintenance Assistant to join our team.Key delivery areas:Ensuring our guests have the best possible experience by making sure the hotel is maintained and fixing any errors that are needed, providing preventive maintenance and repairs of the hotel's common areas, kitchen, restaurant, bar, grounds and guestrooms including general repairs on equipment. This role will be based in Killarney Royal Townhouse but you will work closely with our colleagues in Great Southern Killarney also to complete projects.Task overview:Responsible for the routine maintenance and upkeep of the hotel facilities, assisting with refurbishment of hotel facilities and services, maintaining the guest rooms, public space, back of the hotel areas, in good repair that may include plumbing, furnishings and fixtures, painting, wall cover repairs, light carpentry, tiling, door and window repairsPerform scheduled and day-to-day routine and preventative maintenance and rectify any maintenance issues within the hotel in guest rooms, meeting rooms, public spaces self-catering as required to prolong the useful life of the building and equipmentExecute proactive approach to maintenance to ensure all equipment and designated areas are maintained to the required standard and to ensure the hotel has achieved the correct maintenance at all times.Further responsibilities may be added from time to time like ad hoc building repairs, assisting with the renovation of buildings etc.Be available to assist, support and liaise with contractors and equipment suppliers on new equipment installations and modifications as necessary and oversee work being carried out at the hotel and ensure that this is completed within an adequate timescale.Responds promptly and quickly to all maintenance calls and concerns that arise, find solutions and be capable of using own judgement where required to ensure issues are dealt with promptlyMaintain all tools, equipment, and working areas in good condition.Reports mechanical malfunctions to appropriate party and contractors for actionAll other maintenance as required or directed by the managersRole Requirements:Have fluent English – written and spokenPreferably qualified / certified in one or more tradesWell-groomed and professionally presentable at all times.Have 2-3 years' experience in a comparable rolePossess excellent communication and interpersonal skillsBe courteous and focused on providing a consistently high standard of service and hygieneBe standards driven, a team player, flexiblePossess the ability to work under pressureHave excellent organisational skillsBe willing to work variable shifts (including weekends) periodicallyBenefits of working for Killarney Royal TownhouseTraining & Development opportunitiesExperiential development opportunitiesLong Service RecognitionMonthly and Annual awards / recognitionMonthly Staff appreciation events, Summer BBQ and Christmas FunctionsReduced rates for F&B and hotel-stays across Hayfield family collectionAccess to Leisure centre and Gym for greatly reduced ratesCompetitive Market related SalariesFree Staff Meals each shiftExclusive access to discountsWe Believe….At Hayfield Family Collection, our passion for hospitality has been handed down through the generations.
