Radiotherapy Access to Care Lead - UPMC HCC CorkLocation: Radiotherapy Centre CorkJob type: PermanentOverview of role:Patient Services Lead will have the ability to lead, guide and supervise the Access to Care team to successfully manage patient administration services on a day-to-day basis.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities within the Radiotherapy Department:Manage the patient services team to include, but not limited to:Registration and clearanceAdmissions and dischargeClaims and re-imbursement management.Medical records filingHealth information managementClinical supportAdministration supportWork with the finance team to improve departmental billing and payment processes.Take lead in delivering patient focused service, quality and efficiency.Assist the clinical team with management of clinical research trial patients.Assist with preparation for accreditation surveys.Identify and action training needs for the patient services team.Participate in cross departmental service focus groups.To promote the department in a positive way and build sound business relationships with key stakeholders- consultants, GPS, other healthcare institutions, business community, community representatives.To ensure the hospitals communication systems support our efforts to build good relations with all stakeholders.To provide information and analysis necessary to facilitate good understanding of patient demographics, GP referral patterns and population trends relevant to the clinic and healthcare generally.To provide regular reports to the management team against agreed business development plans, programs and budgets.Administration supportTo deal with any patient queries in relation to prices, payment excesses and to ensure all patient fees are captured in advance of Radiotherapy to effectively manage same.To liaise with the finance department in relation to the status of patient accounts and the capture of patient paymentsTo be responsible for developing departmental rota in advance and seeking staff agreement re same, while at the same time meeting the organisations needsTo collate patient satisfaction surveys on a monthly basis to ensure that same are forwarded to the management team.The Patient Services Lead will also be expected to take a hands-on role in the administration areas and perform medical secretary tasks for consultants.To work in conjunction with the IT department to ensure that any issues that arise are dealt with in a timely manner.Health & SafetyAs an employee of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Centre you have a responsibility to:Take reasonable care of your own Health and Safety and that of any other person who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work.Co-operate with UPMC in ensuring that statutory regulations, codes of practice, local policies and departmental health and safety rules are adhered to.Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health and safety.Information GovernanceUPMC is committed to compliance with Information Governance standards to ensure that all information is handled legally, securely, efficiently, and effectively.
