We are Hiring
Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Oncology Day Unit
for a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
37.5 hours per week (Fixed Term/Full-Time)
Responsibilities include:
Oversee and participate in direct patient care, including chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, and symptom management.
Provide patient education and support throughout treatment and recovery.
Manage the daily operations of the Oncology Day Unit and ensure smooth workflow.
Supervise and allocate nursing staff to maintain safe staffing levels and effective skill mix.
Support staff recruitment, induction, training, and professional development.
Coordinate patient appointments, assessments, and treatment schedules efficiently.
Provide telephone triage and clinical advice, escalating concerns when required.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, medication safety, and clinical guidelines.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and lead quality improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, allied health professionals, and the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Requirements
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) registration and 3-5 years of post-registration nursing experience, preferably in oncology.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience with evidence of ongoing professional development in oncology nursing or healthcare management.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
Good organizational, documentation, audit, and reporting skills, with a strong commitment to patient safety, quality care, and clinical standards.
Ability to achieve key performance targets including safe chemotherapy administration, staff development and retention, patient satisfaction, and quality improvement initiatives.
