**Fabrication Workshop Supervisor Role**
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fabrication Workshop Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our fabrication workshop. The successful candidate will have a trade qualification in fabrication, welding or a related field, with a minimum of 7 years' hands-on experience in a fabrication workshop.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and team management skills, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. They will also be proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications, and have a strong knowledge of welding techniques, metal types, and fabrication equipment.
The Fabrication Workshop Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of fabricators, welders, and general workshop staff, managing workloads, allocating tasks, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications. They will also be responsible for implementing systems and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity, monitoring workflow and adjusting resources as necessary to meet deadlines, and ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Team Supervision: Lead the workshop team in day-to-day fabrication activities
* Process Improvement: Implement systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity
* Task Management: Interpret engineering drawings and work orders to assign tasks
* Production Coordination: Ensure timely production of fabricated components per project requirements
* Quality Control: Monitor workflow and adjust resources as necessary to meet deadlines
The successful candidate will also be responsible for conducting regular inspections and quality checks on fabricated components, ensuring the workshop complies with all relevant health and safety regulations, overseeing equipment maintenance, and maintaining records of production, materials, attendance, and incident reports.
Requirements and Qualifications:
* Trade Qualification: Trade qualification in Fabrication, Welding, or a related field
* Work Experience: Minimum 7 years' hands-on experience in a fabrication workshop
* Leadership Experience: At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership role
* Skill Proficiency: Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications
* Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metal types, and fabrication equipment
