How you'll make an impact:
This is a Software Engineer III position within our Client Software Engineering organization. This role will work on Web-based client software for our SiriusXM and Pandora products. As a member of our Client Software Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to improve the Pandora and SiriusXM experiences to the millions of customers we serve. You will get the chance to take on complex and interesting problems as part of a fast-paced, highly collaborative team. We hold ourselves to high standards and take pride in our work. What you'll do:
• Develop innovative enhancements and add new features for SiriusXM's web applications.
• Support team members by participating in code-reviews and ensuring adherence to established development processes.
• Facilitate the troubleshooting of pre- and post-production issues, working closely with the development team.
• Ensure that solutions align with established architecture patterns and technical guidelines to maintain system integrity and scalability.
• Follow high-level standards across design and development, reducing technical debt and improving maintainability.
• Analyze business requirements and recommend resilient technical solutions that improve system performance while staying within the existing framework.
• Be familiar with the overall software stack and the software components of the applications and website we build and always be looking for ways to optimize and improve.
• Work with UX Designers, Product Managers, and Software Engineers to ensure that user-facing products follow consistent design principles.
What you'll need:
Educational Background:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
• 5+ years of experience developing scalable, high-volume web applications.
Technical Skills:
• Advanced proficiency in React and TypeScript, including a deep understanding of its practices and commonly used node packages.
• Solid grasp of HTML, CSS, SASS, and responsive design principles.
• Proven ability to create custom, reusable React components.
• Experience with CI/CD environments like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and acceptance tests using frameworks such as Jest, Vitest, or similar.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple levels of the web application stack.
• Experience with NextJS a plus.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Excellent collaboration skills with UI/UX and Product teams.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Additional Qualifications:
• A growth mindset with the ability to learn quickly.
• Exposure to architectural design patterns of highly scaled web applications is advantageous.
• Experience building responsive and mobile web experiences is beneficial.
• A solid understanding of web standards, successful practices, accessibility, and browser compatibility issues is desirable.
