Overview
Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer - Dublin
We are seeking an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Maintenance Engineer to join a leading organisation within the energy sector.
This role involves carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical and control systems.
Responsibilities
Perform planned and condition-based maintenance on electrical and control systems
Carry out HV switching operations following safety rules and permit procedures
Inspect and maintain MV/HV switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VSDs, motors, and related equipment
Diagnose faults using schematics, diagrams, and electrical testing tools
Calibrate and maintain field instruments, sensors, transmitters, and control valves
Log all maintenance activities using the CMMS system
Support safe isolation, equipment testing, and compliance with LOTO procedures
Prepare and review Method Statements and Risk Assessments
Identify opportunities for improving system reliability and performance
Qualifications
NFQ Level 6 or equivalent in Electrical, Instrumentation, or similar
5+ years in electrical and C&I maintenance within a power plant or heavy industry
Strong knowledge of HV/MV/LV systems, transformers, switchgear, motors, and instrumentation
Proficient in reading electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and control system drawings
Skilled in the use of testing and calibration equipment
Familiar with safe work practices including LOTO, Permit to Work, and PPE usage
IT literacy and experience with CMMS systems
Authorization to work in Ireland
