Civil Engineer - Water Network Improvement
This position requires a Civil Engineer with experience in water network improvement projects. As Resident Engineer – Water, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of new and upgraded water network improvements in the Cork region.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Regional Contractors to ensure project compliance with contracts and legislation.
* Liaise with Local Authorities to deliver projects.
* Conduct HSQE audits and manage HSQE issues.
* Process work orders.
* Approve Service Requests.
* Update trackers.
* Review and approve as laid drawings.
* Work with IW Design Engineers to provide clarity on project deliverables.
* Address complaints.
* Provide feedback to Regional Leads and IW.
* Attend and manage meetings with Regional Contractors and IW.
* Keep accurate records.
* Create snags lists and sign off when complete.
* Visit sites before works commence to identify potential problems and provide feedback to IW Design Engineers.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* A minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience in on-site supervision, site engineering of civil engineering works, including water projects.
* A Degree in a related discipline, such as Civil Engineering.
* The ability to write clear and concise reports and maintain accurate works records.
* Strong knowledge and experience of Health and Safety procedures and regulations.
* A current and valid SafePass card is essential; Confined Spaces training is desirable.
You will also require excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively within a team at all times. Travel may be involved, so flexibility is necessary.
