Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist-Orthopaedic Inpatient Service
for our hospital located inDublin, Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver an effective Orthopaedic In-Patient Physiotherapy service based on assessed patient needs.
Maintain high clinical standards by implementing best-practice procedures and staying updated on new skills, technologies, and professional developments.
Participate in service development through process improvement initiatives, audits, research, and involvement in relevant committees or interest groups.
Support the management of the physiotherapy service by fostering strong communication, contributing to staff induction, appraisal, and in-service training.
Promote continuous education and research, and maintain accurate records, statistics, and documentation required for organisational and legal compliance.
Regularly review and update orthopaedic policies and guidelines, and assist in meeting quality and accreditation standards.
Provide interdisciplinary education to enhance understanding of orthopaedic physiotherapy practices and collaborate with orthopaedic consultants to optimise patient care.
Lead a professional, dedicated team by encouraging high standards, punctuality, and a positive work culture.
Promote staff development by coordinating training for senior and junior physiotherapists and ensuring appropriate rostering to maintain full service coverage.
Liaise effectively with orthopaedic surgeons and care teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centred care.
Requirements
Must hold a recognised degree in Physiotherapy and be registered with CORU.
Membership with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists is required.
Must have substantial post-graduate experience in Orthopaedic physiotherapy.
Should demonstrate a strong record of clinical and/or academic achievement within the orthopaedic specialty.
A postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedics or Trauma is desirable.
Able to apply advanced clinical knowledge and reasoning to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate interventions for elective orthopaedic patients.
Performs clinical duties in line with current evidence-based practice and professional standards.
Provides holistic, patient-centred care and actively collaborates within the multidisciplinary team.
Uses evidence-based outcome measures to assess treatment effectiveness and overall quality of care.
Delegates clinical tasks appropriately and manages clinical demands alongside other responsibilities.
