About the Role
This position involves delivering high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients presenting with urgent or emergency health needs. As a pediatric A&E nurse in this setting, you will work within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver patient-centred care in line with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland standards.
* Triage and assess patients presenting to the Emergency Department using Manchester Triage or equivalent systems.
* Provide emergency nursing interventions including wound care, resuscitation support, IV therapy, and pain management.
* Monitor and evaluate patient progress and document clinical records accurately.
* Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
* Respond to clinical emergencies and support critical care transfers.
* Ensure infection control, patient safety, and privacy standards are upheld.
* Administer medications safely and according to protocols and guidelines.
Requirements
* Registered Paediatric Nurse with active registration with An Bord Altranais / Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
* Must have eligibility to work in Ireland (EU/EEA passport or appropriate work visa).
* Triage training and certification (preferred but not mandatory).
* Mandatory training including but not exclusive to Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
* Minimum 12 months post-registration experience in an Paediatric A&E, ED, or Urgent Care setting.
