Facilities Maintenance Technician – Janssen, Cork Bio

Location: Janssen – Cork Bio
Responsibilities
Delivery of a consistent level of service within the Company’s standards, to contract specifications and agreed performance, qualitative and financial targets.
Compliance with company and statutory regulations relating to safe systems of work, health & safety, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
Deal with service requests and incidents within the range of competence, training and experience; provide out-of-hours response where necessary.
Ensure standards across site(s) align with Service Level Agreements and KPIs specified in the service contract.
Responsible and accountable for safe accomplishment of all activities within the Facilities team, following statutory, environmental, regulatory (cGMP), corporate site and team practices and procedures.
Report EHS incidents and/or near misses; maintain housekeeping standards; perform electrical/mechanical isolation of equipment to ensure safe-to-work conditions.
Maintain housekeeping standards across the facility; apply Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) where appropriate.
Support team in performance, provide feedback to underperforming members, track and report issues; lead or participate in 6S and error-proofing projects.
Serve as a point of contact as delegated by the facilitator; manage equipment handover/permitting, SAP SME responsibilities, IT issue reporting/change requests, EHS issues, training and incident reporting.
Prepare and deliver training materials for new technicians and cross-training (e.g., EHS modules); participate in facilities maintenance tasks and on-call cover as required.
Carry out routine and non-routine tasks assigned by Facilities Supervisor/Hard Services Lead and management; repair equipment (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automation, civil); execute site preventive maintenance routines; assist in construction, commissioning, and qualification of equipment.
Develop maintenance procedures and equipment files; select appropriate spare parts to maximise equipment availability; operate facilities utilities safely and efficiently; collect/analyze equipment data to report performance.
Assist with rolling shutdown preparation/execution; manage facilities maintenance contracts and collaborate with contractors.
Train other staff; assist in stores operations; ensure all work activity follows Janssen PTW system and risk assessments; ensure PMs are carried out per SAP PM schedule.
Planning & Compliance
Plan and schedule work; execute the facilities maintenance plan; participate in daily work order reviews.
Operate site facilities utilities to required cGMP standards (USP, EU, etc.) and maintain equipment to cGMP standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work on the CMMS – SAP; ensure documentation complies with site procedures and GDP; report non-conformances promptly to ensure EHS and GMP compliance.
Foster continuous improvement and participate in investigations and cross-functional teams to support site goals; travel to other J&J sites for training/meetings/projects as required.
Qualifications
Essential
Trade qualified
Proven track record in a similar role, preferably with at least 2 years’ experience
Proven ability to organise tasks and carry out duties efficiently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to operate as part of a team; customer-focused; innovative
Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Utilities aptitude; attention to detail; good problem-solving skills
Results- and performance-driven; adaptable and flexible
Desirable
Practical experience in a similar role; scientific or technical qualifications in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & controls, utilities engineering
Maintenance experience within a GMP-regulated environment
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; SAP, DeltaV, PLC, SCADA systems
