Job Title: Hygiene Team Coordinator
Job Description:
As a key member of our site's hygiene team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring that all cleaning procedures are carried out efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with food safety and internal audit standards.
* Supervise and coordinate the hygiene team, including rota planning, task allocation, holiday cover, and training.
* Ensure all cleaning procedures align with site schedules and hygiene standards.
* Oversee Health & Safety and COSHH compliance within the hygiene team.
* Manage PPE usage, cleaning materials, and stock control.
* Support technical and engineering teams with post-maintenance cleans.
* Deliver hygiene training and assist in onboarding new staff.
* Conduct GMP and hygiene audits, resolving non-conformances swiftly.
* Assist with microbiological investigations and root cause analysis.
* Maintain full audit readiness at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of the hygiene team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
* Develop and implement strategies to improve cleanliness and hygiene standards across the site.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hygiene practices into daily operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* Previous experience in a hygiene role within a food manufacturing or similar environment.
* Supervisory or team-leading experience in a production/hygiene setting.
* Good understanding of COSHH regulations and chemical handling.
* Solid grasp of Health & Safety standards.
* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to thrive under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
