Job Opportunity
The Finishing Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Finishing department. They will coordinate resources to ensure that orders flow efficiently through the Finishing Department.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage departmental operations to meet schedule and performance requirements.
* Ensure Operational Excellence objectives are achieved.
* Monitor staffing requirements and deploy staff effectively.
* Facilitate continuous improvement projects within the combined finishing function.
The Finishing Manager must demonstrate strategic understanding, draft new ideas, and display strong people management skills. They should work closely with other departments to ensure effective internal relationships.
Accountabilities
* Departmental Management: Ensure adherence to schedules, product quality, waste reduction, and production efficiency.
* Identify and manage job-related departmental bottlenecks.
* Develop and execute Operational Excellence improvement plans.
* Work closely with Planning, Engineering, Cut and Crease, and Warehouse departments.
* Utilize staff across a wide range of activities within the department.
* Carry out regular departmental briefings and on-site customer visits.
Performance Management
* Provide proactive leadership to all departmental personnel.
* Identify relevant KPIs and contribute to companywide continuous improvement/Operational Excellence programme.
* Communicate effective feedback on performance and develop a monthly departmental report.
