About the Role
This senior appointment carries responsibility for key regulatory functions and will be subject to the relevant pre‑approval processes. You will oversee a dedicated compliance team supporting several Irish entities, ensuring that regulatory expectations are met and that high standards of governance, oversight and risk management are consistently upheld.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will act as the principal compliance representative for the jurisdiction, coordinating regulatory communication, promoting transparency, and providing clear, informed guidance on evolving requirements. This is a highly visible role with broad scope, encompassing both entity‑specific responsibilities and country‑level oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Entity & Functional Leadership
Lead and develop the Irish Compliance team, ensuring robust oversight across multiple regulated entities.
Design, implement and maintain compliance frameworks, plans and policies aligned with regulatory obligations.
Deliver training and guidance to staff on AML/CFT, KYC, data protection, corporate governance and related compliance matters.
Conduct and oversee compliance monitoring reviews, reporting outcomes and recommending enhancements.
Manage reporting of suspicious activity and ensure appropriate escalation procedures are followed.
Prepare board and regulatory compliance reports and attend relevant committee and board meetings.
Contribute to the governance and oversight of outsourced arrangements.
Country‑Level Responsibilities
Champion a strong compliance culture across the jurisdiction, working collaboratively with senior stakeholders.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with regulators, auditors and other external bodies.
Coordinate all regulatory interactions, including inspections, enquiries and thematic reviews.
Provide consistent regulatory messaging to executive teams, committees and boards.
Track regulatory developments, guiding the assessment and implementation of new requirements.
Ensure alignment and consistency across compliance activities within the jurisdiction.
Support regional and group‑wide compliance initiatives and elevate key matters as needed.
Participate in senior compliance forums and contribute to resource planning.
Travel as required to support regulatory and business needs.
About You
At least 7 years’ experience in financial services compliance or regulatory roles, with a deep understanding of Irish and EU regulatory frameworks.
A degree‑level qualification; a postgraduate degree in law, finance or business is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of alternative investment structures such as hedge funds, private equity and real estate funds.
Proven experience translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, commercial solutions.
Excellent analytical, project management and compliance monitoring skills.
The ability to influence senior stakeholders, deliver clear regulatory reports, and provide effective training.
A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to navigate evolving regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and developing compliance professionals.
Additional experience with cross‑border regulation, emerging financial technologies or regulatory audits is beneficial.
