Senior Occupational Therapist Acute Services Location: Dublin (Acute Hospital Setting) Contract Types: Full-Time Permanent Acute Medicine & Surgery Full-Time Specified Purpose (Approx. 15 months) Inpatient Orthopaedics A panel may be formed for future Senior OT vacancies.
The Opportunity These posts offer the opportunity to work within established multidisciplinary teams, manage complex caseloads, lead service development initiatives, and contribute to discharge planning and patient pathway improvement in a busy teaching-hospital environment.
Key Areas of Practice Acute Medicine & Surgery Senior OT Lead OT service delivery across medical and surgical specialties Manage complex cases and complex discharges Implement care pathways in collaboration with ICU and discharge-planning OT leads Inpatient Orthopaedics Senior OT Manage trauma and elective orthopaedic caseloads Work closely with Orthopaedic MDT and therapy teams Provide splinting and specialist seating for complex injuries Lead service development projects, including Early Supported Discharge initiatives Key Responsibilities Deliver and oversee high-quality OT assessment and intervention Manage and prioritise complex caseloads Supervise and support Staff Grade OTs, students and therapy assistants Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Support discharge planning and equipment provision Maintain professional and clinical documentation standards Essential Requirements CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist Recognised BSc/MSc in Occupational Therapy Minimum 3 years post-qualification clinical experience Experience relevant to acute or specialist practice Experience supervising staff or students Desirable Acute hospital experience Complex discharge planning and home access visits Specialist seating / wheelchair provision Upper and lower limb splinting experience Full driving licence and access to transport Whats On Offer HSE Senior OT Salary Scale (Grade ****) Full-time, pensionable contracts 29 days annual leave 35-hour working week Strong MDT environment CPD, education and research opportunities Opportunity to lead service innovation Although it is not possible for us to respond to all applications, we at PE Global will do our upmost to give you feedback on your application.
