POSITION SUMMARY
Hitachi High-Tech Ireland’s Semiconductor Equipment Division (SED) supplies and supports plasma etchers used in the manufacturing of semiconductors. As a Field Service Engineer I in the SED Customer Support Department, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining Hitachi etch equipment at a customer manufacturing facility in line with contractually agreed availability targets. You will interface with key personnel both internally within Hitachi and externally within our customer teams; requiring a highly technical, professional, and self-motivated approach. You must continuously seek to strengthen your technical abilities by proactively accessing the experience of senior team members. You are expected to execute this role while demonstrating initiative and innovation in the proactive provision of service in line with Hitachi’s contractual obligations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Complete equipment technical training. (E)
* Successfully maintain Hitachi etch equipment at a customer facility, meeting corporate service contract requirements. Demonstrate a high level of quality workmanship—checking your work, ensuring fix first time, checklist/procedure adherence in line with expectations. (E)
* Perform regular Safety Audits, identifying hazards and rectifying/escalating as appropriate; effective use of Stop the Job authority. (E)
* Create detailed, accurate, technical reports on all work performed, using documentation systems like Salesforce, shift passdown, training certification, etc., and any other items requested by management. (E)
* Maintain a professional, positive approach with customers and colleagues—effective communication, appearance, demeanor, and attitude. (E)
* Willingness to travel and/or relocate for training or support, domestically or internationally. (E)
* Adhere to all company policies. (E)
* Increase technical knowledge of Hitachi equipment independently or under senior guidance. (E)
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION
* Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred, or
* Military experience or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, or similar disciplines.
EXPERIENCE
* Knowledge of electronic, electrical, and electromagnetic devices. (E)
* Pneumatic and mechanical systems. (E)
* Vacuum technology. (E)
* Analog and digital circuitry. (E)
* Use of digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, data loggers, and hand tools. (E)
* RF and microwave systems. (P)
* Gas delivery, monitoring devices, and gases used in etching. (P)
* Understanding of electrical and mechanical blueprints and schematics. (E)
* Computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint. (E)
