Our company is seeking a skilled professional to support the ongoing development of high-speed automated production lines and new product introductions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC controlled equipment, vision systems, revision control systems, and manufacturing data integrity and security.
About the Role:
As a system specialist, you will be responsible for managing and supporting existing automation infrastructure to optimize performance and minimize downtime. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide comprehensive support for all Automation and Information Systems and Technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain the existing automation infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and minimised downtime.
* Collaborate with the IT Group, Application Group, and External Technical Resources to provide comprehensive support of all Automation and Information Systems and Technologies.
* Develop solutions that implement industry best practices to deliver improved productivity, quality, and efficiency throughout the organization.
* Install and deploy systems, software, and peripherals as required, liaising with external vendors and service contractors as appropriate.
* Provide technical direction for all new infrastructure developments, in agreement with the Engineering Manager.
* Interface with Corporate Information Systems on standards, support, and new infrastructure developments.
* Ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, and other applications.
* Document all aspects of system support including all procedures to ISO standards.
Requirements:
* A degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (2-4 years' relevant experience in Medical Devices).
* Experience with PLC programming, in-line vision systems, barcode systems, network topology, PC application software, Remote I/O, systematic troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
* Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drive Technology, Experience of TCP/IP and Wide Area Network architectures. Programming of Allen-Bradley Controllogix5000 and PLC5 Visual Basic applications.
