Essential Requirements
* EU or UK citizenship or existing right to work in Ireland (mandatory)
* Proven experience as a Workshop Manager, Senior Supervisor, or Lead Technician in an HGV or plant environment
* Strong technical background in diesel vehicles, tanker fleets, or mixed HGV operations
* In-depth knowledge of CVRT, ADR, tachograph, and statutory tank testing requirements
* Experience managing teams of mechanics, fitters, and apprentices
* Strong understanding of health and safety, compliance, and regulatory standards

Job Overview
Responsible for the overall management of the workshop and maintenance operations, overseeing Diesel Plant Fitters and technicians to ensure all vehicles are repaired, serviced, and maintained to the highest standards. You will ensure that all fleet maintenance, inspections, and repairs are completed on time, within budget, and fully compliant with all relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day workshop operations and maintenance activities
* Manage, supervise, and support Diesel Plant Fitters, technicians, and apprentices
* Plan and allocate work to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to agreed timeframes
* Ensure all vehicles are prepared, presented, and maintained for CVRT, ADR, tachograph, and tank testing
* Monitor quality of repairs and inspections, promoting a right-first-time culture
* Work closely with senior management to control fleet maintenance costs and budgets
* Ensure all vehicle inspection reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation are completed accurately
* Maintain high standards of health, safety, and regulatory compliance across the workshop
* Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to the workshop team
* Champion training, upskilling, and development, including apprenticeship programmes
* Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and operationally efficient
* Support the implementation of new technologies and best practices within the transport industry
Qualifications
* Relevant trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics, Plant Fitting, or similar
* Previous leadership or management experience within a workshop environment
* Strong technical and operational knowledge of HGV and tanker fleet maintenance
